Responsible Waste Management

Responsible Waste Management Services

At DP Skip Hire, we have 25 years of experience in waste management services, so we know a thing or two about getting rid of rubbish!

With that, we are also incredibly sensitive to the role we play in looking after our planet and ensuring waste is disposed of responsibly and in line with our core vision & values.

As such, we are currently striving to achieve a zero waste to landfill service, which means that all of the waste that comes in to our depot is recycled and repurposed rather than sent to landfill.

With DP Skip Hire, no matter the waste you’re looking to dispose of, you can be sure that we are doing everything we can to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill and that recyclable waste is repurposed in the most environmentally friendly way.

Things To Consider

If you’ve never hired a skip before, and you’re looking for the right domestic skip for your needs, here are a few things to consider before making your choice.

What size skip will I need?

Our skip sizes vary from 2-yard mini skips to industrially suited 40 yard RoRo variations. These are well suited to a range of applications. To help you choose, we have include capacity information on each individual skip page.

It is important to choose the right size skip, as getting it wrong could cost you more if you need to hire an extra one to meet your needs! Or you may have to find some other way to dispose of your waste.

To help you, we’ve created a handy video, which you’ll find below. But if you’re still unsure, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Where can I put the skip?

Skips can be placed on your driveway or in your garden. If you have have neither, then they can also be placed on the road. To place a skip on a public highway, you will need to purchase a permit from us when you book your skip. We procure these from the local council on your behalf, and when we deliver your skip we will also ensure it has the appropriate lights/cones surrounding it to ensure safety of road users and pedestrians.

Prices and notice periods for skip hire permits are shown below:

  • Stoke on Trent Council (£60 – 3 Working Days Notice)
  • Staffordshire Council (£60 – 5 Working Days Notice)
  • Cheshire Council (£100 – 5 Working Days Notice)
  • Shropshire Council (£150 – 10 Working Days Notice)

All you have to do is let us know which local council your location falls under and we will take care of the rest. But do be sure to take into account the notice periods required when booking your skip.

What can I put in a skip?

Our skips are suitable for general waste, brick & soil. That being said, there are some items that may not be suitable for skip disposal.
