How big does my driveway need to be?

That depends on the size of skip you choose! You’ll find the dimensions of each of our skips listed on their individual pages, which will help you gauge how much space you’ll need. For garden clearances and small DIY jobs, our 3-yard mini skips and 4-yard midi skips are a perfect size and, as a general rule, most driveways are big enough to accommodate both of these skips. If there is sufficient access and space in your garden, we can put a skip there. However, in some circumstances (such as on soft or unstable ground) we might advise against it. How long can I hire a skip for?

Our maximum hire period when you hire online is 2 weeks. In our experience, this is ample time to get the job done. What can I put in a skip?

We also offer a range of services such as uPVC recycling and scrap metal recycling which may be suitable for your needs.

Please remember there are certain items which cannot be put in a skip such as asbestos, TVs, fridges, light bulbs, tyres, hazardous waste and gas cylinders. If you are unsure if your waste is permitted in a skip, please contact us and we will advise.
How much can I put in a skip?

We ask customers to act responsibly when filling their skips. If it is overfilled and unsafe to transport, we won’t be able to take it away and it may cost you more. The fill levels on each of our skips are clearly indicated by a marker on either the inside our outside.

We strongly advise putting flat items in your skip first, followed by large, heavy or bulky items. If you are working with bin bags full of rubbish, be sure to squeeze all the air out and crush down any larger items. Doing both of these things will help you make the most of the space in your skip without overfilling it.

To help you determine the size of skip you’ll need for the job, each individual skip page features an estimate of how many bin bags filled with waste it can accommodate. Complete and utter waste of time. Called on the supposed day of delivery at 10am as skip had not yet arrived, nor had I... had any communication since booking online. Each person I spoke to simply didn't have a clue as to what was going on, didn't have my name, address or number, couldn't find my booking (despite taking payment) and that I'd have to wait for the Transport Manager after making 3 calls. I'd booked the skip days in advance and booked a day off work to complete a project. Finally after 3 calls, they'd located said skip but couldn't give me a time of delivery, stating "some time in the afternoon". I duly cancelled, called around other businesses and had a skip delivered within the hour. Won't be using again.read more

I received an email from Jon immediately... after booking letting me know that it might be a couple of days later owing to the impact of Covid-19 which was totally understandable. Used them a few times now:Skips: Dropped off an hour after booking late on a Friday. Picked up first thing Monday... morning. Their top soil is a BARGAIN! And extremely good quality. Aggregates:- slightly pricier than others, but with the free delivery, even on a single bag, this makes up for it and is probably why. (Others want 15quid to deliver)All in all, I personally can't really fault them!read more
